This blog welcomes the Church of England’s decision to debate Kairos Palestine II and reflects on the responsibility of religious leaders to speak consistently for the sanctity of all human life. It responds to the Chief Rabbi’s opposition to the debate and drawing on a lifetime of opposing extremism, antisemitism and all forms of hatred, calls for compassion, moral courage and an unwavering commitment to justice for both Israelis and Palestinians.
